Welcome to Innovayogameditation.com, your ultimate destination for exploring the profound depths of Yoga, Meditation, Pilates, Wellness, Well-being and more. Today, we will be delving into the mystical world of the Subtle Body, focusing specifically on Nadis and Chakras.

What is the Subtle Body?

The Subtle Body refers to the part of you that you can’t touch or see. It’s made up of energy currents (or ‘prana’ as it is known in the yogic tradition) that flow through your body and form the basis of your life force. This energy system includes what yogis refer to as Nadis and Chakras.

What are Nadis?

Nadis are the channels or pathways through which energy flows in your body. The ancient yogic texts mention that there are countless Nadis, but for practical purposes, we mainly talk about three essential Nadis – Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna.

  • Ida – starting from the left side of the base of the spine and ending up in the left nostril. It is associated with feminine attributes and controls all mental processes.
  • Pingala – this one originates from the right side of the base of the spine, ending in the right nostril. It’s related to the masculine side of us and governs vitality and physical processes.
  • Sushumna – it’s the central channel that runs from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. This Nadi is associated with spiritual growth and enlightenment.

What are Chakras?

Chakras are the energy centers that lie along the Sushumna. There are seven key chakras, namely:

  1. Muladhara (Root Chakra)
  2. Svadhisthana (Sacral Chakra)
  3. Manipura (Solar Plexus Chakra)
  4. Anahata (Heart Chakra)
  5. Vishuddha (Throat Chakra)
  6. Ajna (Third Eye Chakra)
  7. Sahasrara (Crown Chakra)

Each of these Chakras corresponds to different aspects of our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. When the Chakras are balanced and open, prana can flow freely, leading to a feeling of peace, vitality, and well-being. But when they are blocked or unbalanced, it can lead to physical, mental and emotional ill-health.

How can we balance our Nadis and Chakras?

Through practices such as yoga, meditation, breathwork (or pranayama), and other energy work, we can balance and cleanse our Nadis and Chakras, promoting health, vitality and spiritual growth.

Understanding and exploring your subtle body, the Nadis & Chakras, is a transformative journey of self-discovery, healing and evolution. It’s an integral part of the yogic path that promises a greater sense of depth, connection and understanding of your multidimensional self.
